Hi - There is someone guiding on Lake Nocamixon that has a large antenna on a crestliner boat. Trolls a lot. Guides in New jersey too. I hear he is letting customers keep musky. Just letting you all know - I hear how much work you put into this lake and that you bought all these fish that he is making money off of.

Doc,

Thanks for the heads up.  The only way he can be stopped is if he's allowing his customers to keep sublegal fish.  If they are of legal length, I do not believe there is much that can be done.  It just stinks that he's profiting off of the sweat of others.

I know this has been brought up myriad times, but if MI50 is the predominant/sole reason for muskies in Nock/MC, I don't see why we don't have some pull to implement higher size limits, or even C&R only.

I see him all the time as well. He caught one on Sunday and appeared to had put it in his livewell. I moved in then it looked like he took it out and released it. He was solo that day.

I’ve been noticing lots of new Muskie boats I haven’t seen before. Counted 8 the other day, word is out.

Doc, DL, Esoxhntr5m

My name is Pete Lahosky and I am the guy trolling the Noc in the crestliner. Perhaps you should get your facts straight before slamming a fellow club members on the forum.

I have been a Muskies Inc member since 1996. I have caught many, many, many muskies and including a 55" fish from the St. Lawrence in 2000 and I never killed a single one yet. All have been released unharmed!

I do not guide at all for muskies! As a matter of fact I have never even fished with anyone else for musky except one time with Joe Satkowski (MI22 member) during the MI50 tournament on the NOC in 2017.

I am a USCG licensed charter boat captain and operate a charter boat on Lake Ontario for trout and salmon, so maybe that's how you came to the conclusion that I am guiding. I do not have a PA guides license and do not take customers for muskies.

EsoxProV is correct I will on occasion put a fish in the livewell to revive them before I CPR the fish. That is because I do fish solo.

I would hope as a members of a organization that promotes sportsmanship, and to unite all musky fishing interests you would do better research before lashing out at a fellow member.

Perhaps all of you need to read the clubs mission statement again.

Well, Pete, you have my apologies.  My opinion was stated based, obviously, on incomplete information.  Perhaps our diligence in protecting those waters, and the resource that we have all spent so much time and effort cultivating, is a bit over-reactive.

DL

 Thank you for the apology.

I share the same passion for protecting these great fish. Hence the reason I don't "brag" on forums or even fill out release forms any longer about my catches as not to draw attention and bring over fishing to the waters I enjoy.

It's unfortunate that just because I troll, I am viewed as the enemy by the casting purists. As someone who trolls, I enjoy muskie fishing just as much as the most passionate caster and share the same passion to protect, cherish and enjoy these magnificent fish.

Good fishing

My apologies Pete,

Its hard sometimes to determine what's going on from a far, guess it's my fault for assuming. Next time we see u we will introduce ourselves. Guess I was lashing out of frustration from being trolled up on with in 20 yards with a cold shoulder most times think the last time you yelled to us you got a 44".  Tightlines

Thank you also for apology.

I was hoping to meet you at ramp and I would have introduced myself also. Most time on the water I'm focused on the task at hand sorry if it came across as cold shoulder.

Good fishing

Appreciate the conversation Pete. We do have some trollers who come within casting distance sometimes, so it is a topic that rubs a few of us the wrong way.  As you can read, the MI50 membership has worked very hard for many years raising funds, raising and stocking muskies to get a lake like Nockamixon on the cusp of being a great muskie fishery.  Increased traffic, social media, abuse and some anglers regularly pounding the lake 5-7 days a week throughout the year, collectively cause us concern when the fish are just getting to a decent size.  Glad to hear that you are as protective of the resource as we are.  We're always interested in passionate muskie fisherman to assist in our club efforts.  Hopefully we can meet you at a meeting some time.
