Bucktails, Marabou tails for sale

A friend of mine who has a lot of experience with Wisconsin Musky fishing is back in this area. He manufactures a variety of musky lures, including bucktails, marabout tails, surface plugs, cranks, jigs.

Below are a bucktail and a marabou tail spinner. He sells these for $8.00 apiece. I do not receive any funds from this, I am just trying to help him out. The 'tails' can be your choice of color, tail, feathers and blades.

Going to attempt putting a picture here. Anyone interested can contact me, I will forward the requests to him.

The marabou in the picture has a large treble hooks, the bucktail has a large single hook and is very effective in weedy water. However, you can choose whatever hook you like on either. It's up to you.

Hey Al,

How do we order these? Does he have any in Black/Chartreuse? Or just plain black?

Last question first... He can make what ever colors or combinations you want in the bucktail or marabou. You can choose blade color too. You can even choose thread color for the tying of these lures.

If you want to order any, just let me know what you want. I'll get the request to him, and you can pay when you get them. No need to pre-pay for personal orders. The honor system is fine for the guys in this group.

Just get an email to me at AAB126@aol.com Use MUSKY as the subject Tell me what you want, either the bucktail or marabou tail ( or both), color of blade, color(s) of tail, etc. I will send you a reply letting you know that I received your request and will get the order to him. I'll let you know when they are ready and we can make arrangements to get them to you.

Fair enough?

I may be repetitive here, but any shot of getting a list of colors (for thread, hair, and feathers), and size and type of available blades? - I don't want to ask for something and have the poor fellow lose money on getting a certain colored braid or hair - plus it helps on the build your own type of bucktail (btw have seen a website attempt to offer the mixing matching - but if anyone can put one together that is simple - should be worth a gold mine). Thanks J

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Hello Joe,

I talked to him today and he told me that the thread colors were fairly limited, mentioning if I remember correctly, red, orange and black were available. As far as size of blades and the such, if you have a preference on blade size, just mention what it is and if he has them or can order them in smaller quantities, that is what he what he suggested to me.

Since he is somewhat limited financially right now he hasn't yet built up a large stock of lure parts but is working on it. In addition, he is going to get a sampling of what musky lures he can manufacture including top waters and cranks, and we'll post a photo of all the lures he'll make.

Sorry if this doesn't provide an answer to some questions but he really didn't know I was going to do this. He asked me to suggest some tackle shops who might be interested in some of his lures, which I did, but knowing that he was looking to supplement his income through selling his lures, it struck me that mentioning it on this message board would be great not only for him, but for the guys in this group.

In the meantime, if there is something a little different that you want, describe it or sketch it and get it to me, I'll see what he can do with it.

If he decides to remain in this area, there is a good possibility he might have an interest in joining this club.

Tight Lines, Al
