I was thinking that a lure swap at the September meeting might be a good time. Since we approaching prime time, at least in my opinion, this would be the opportunity to pick up some good fall lures and see what is out there in terms of bait styles and colors.

Here is how we could work it. Every bring a box(or two) of baits they are willing to trade/sell. Then let the bidding/trading begin. Capitolism at it's best. That way if you are looking for a weighted Suick or Big Game twitch bait and they are available at the swap, you don't have the necessarily call Pastikas. I think it would be fun and give some people the chance to see/ get lures they may never have seen in person. Plus it could help you pay for the Anton outing or other fall trip you have planned.

What does everybody think???

PS -- If it happens the Prez better bring the Amma Bama. We've got some trading to do!!!

Greg,

Well, I'm impressed with the idea of introducing capitalism into our raffle/barter system of lure exchange. The only problem I see is how one could possibly choose, from the plethera of options, which lures to rid themselves of. I, for one, couldn't possibly part with any of mine, unless of course, there was a Hawg Wabbler on the table, or another white Chuck-a-Buck, or another black Bomber or........

I guess the lures that we do bring should still have paint on them with minimal teeth marks and all of the trebles on ? I am looking for the bart simpson collection. They would work on mercer I bet. Musky Matt L

I would be more then happy to trade all of worthless bass baits for a few quality musky baits.... Of course we would need common bass folk to entertain this idea (which of course they do not own any musky baits). Sure I am game for this.... where is that walleye colored shallow raider?? 😮

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Sounds like a great idea. It'll help us neophyte muskie fisherman begin to try to put together a collection.

Make sure you guys bring all those extra Cobbs you have laying around.

Ok, I am assuming there is some interest to the lure swap/sale. I will be bring a couple of boxes(plano) of baits I would be willing to part with. Sound like a good time.
