May 5, 2004 Meeting Minutes
Officers in attendance: Bob Jones, Chuck Jones, Archie Roche
Total Attendance: 12

Discussions:
1) Treasury reports that we have 1730.00

2) President Bob Jones has spoken with PFBC Area 6 Fisheries Manager, Mike Kaufmann, as well as PFBC Warmwater/Coolwater Production Manager, Marty Marcinko. Indoor tanks are being sent to Pleasant Mount Hatchery, and we may be able to hold over fish in one of these tanks. Marty advises that a new type of feeding pellet has been ordered, and that it will be better than what they are currently using. Marty agrees that feeding them minnows prior to them being stocked, as well as float-stocking, are keys for Muskies to do well. Bob Jones was highly encouraged by his conversations with Mike and Marty, and believes that the Fish Commission really wants to turn the Muskie fishery around.

3) May 23rd Chapter 50 Muskie Tournament is at Nockamixon from 7am to 2pm. Register at Tohickon at 7am. Fee is 15.00 per man. Open to anyone to participate. Members are encouraged to take someone who does not have a boat. Anyone that does not have a boat, and wants to partner with someone who does, needs to drop Bob Jones an email or call. Following the tournament, we hope to have food and drinks for the participants and their families.

4) The possibility of a research outing to Beltzville in June was discussed.

5) Chapter 22 is having their Tournament on June 5th. Many other prizes to be awarded. There’s going to be a informal dinner after the Tournament as well at the American Legion of Greenwood Lake.
The entry fee is going to be $50. Per boat (2 man team) $25.00
Each additional person. The start time is anytime after midnight the morning of June 5th, you must check in at the designated check in station at 8:00 am. The tournament will end at 2:30pm promptly at what time you should be on your way to the American Legion for the awards and a great dinner and a good time. Please call and reserve your spot so we can get a head count for food purposes.
Contact Chuck Graf N.J. Muskies Inc vice Pres. (845) 477-8159 Email: njautotrim@aol.com

6) Sponsorship was discussed. Grandma Lures, Tony Grant, and Fig Rig Rods, all made generous donations to the club. Banners for the web site will be created. As always, Members are encouraged to patronize our sponsors.

7) Rod and lure raffles. Of special note, Bob Jones won the Shimano rod raffle, and then graciously gave it to Walt (Jobu), who now has his first Muskie stick

Hey,

Thanks for posting the minutes from the meeting. Sorry I couldn't attend but after July I'll be able to make every one. I'd just like to thank Bob, Chuck, Arche and Greg for all the legwork they've been doing.
