Howdie all.

I am new to the board. I love to fish for muskies, and have been fishing for them for a 3 years now, and have only caught a few. But I am totally addicted to musky fishing! Anyways I will be moving to Chester County, in southeast PA in August. I am currently living in Louisville, KY. I was wondering what the musky fishing opportunities are in the area? I don't mind driving a couple hours to get to a decent spot. I also have a small 14ft aluminum with 15 hp on it,will that work for the waters in the area? Thanks and hoping to join your MI chapter when i move to the area.

Hello EsoxMTK,

Welcome. Most of us live in Southeast PA or South Jersey and yes there are muskie to be caught in some local rivers and lakes. Even more to be caught if you're willing to drive 3 or 4 hours.

Yes, that 14' boat will get you on some of the local muskie waters.

Be sure to contact us join up when you get here.

Stay where you are!!! This place will suck the life out of you!!! Muskies? There ain't no stinkin' muskies!!! Seriously, good luck with your move. Hope it goes smoothly. As for your boat, you should also get an electric motor. Most of the lakes in PA are electric motor only lakes. And there are plenty of locations to go to. I live in northeastern PA near Scranton. I keep getting told there are muskies in the waters up here but have yet to catch one. Hopefully, this will be the year I break that jinx! Again, good luck with your move. And do look up MI 50 when you get here. It's a great bunch of guys. You'll enjoy the club.

Muskyless Ed and I'm overdue!!!

I need open water!!!

Hello EsoxMTK,

First, welcome to the board! As the other guys have mentioned there are plenty of water to fish in this area. I also live in Chester County and have several good lakes within 30mins or so of my house. Also as Mike mentioned there are some even better water to fish if you are willing to drive 2-3 hrs...

You are more then welcome to come out to one of our meeting we hold the every first Wednesday of the month. Please be sure to check the homepage http://mi50.com/ or the calendar page http://mi50.com/calender.htm as it will be posted to where the meeting will be held. It is usually at Caseys Tavern in Quakertown, PA.

Hope to see you soon,

Be glad you get to move to PA. and not NJ. That would suck the life out of you! Nice muskies in NJ though and close!

Hey, make sure to bring some of that KY corn wisky and moon shine up here 😮 The strongest shot I've ever had in my life was some kentucky corn wisky, it was gin clear and out of what looked liked like an old mayonaisse jar, I don't know what it was but...whew! wicked stuff!

Good fishing and welcome aboard, hope you get settled down in PA ok 🙂
