Hey all,

I'm looking for some help deciding on a reel to put on the rod I won during the auction.....A Tuscarora beauty!

I sure do want to marry this one with the right reel but also have to be able to afford the line...LOL

Any input would be appreciated!

The Spec's:
Custom 8'10 Tackle Industries XH
17" Rear Split Grip in Cork
5" Full Wells Foregrip in Black X-Flock
Fuji Reel Seat
American Tackle Virtus Lite Ringlock Guides wrapped in Black and Silver Trim

Righty/Lefty is a good question...I am using a Curado 200G6 lefty right now but am having trouble adjusting to it. I guess I'll man up and stick with the lefty.

I'm a newby but from what I'm reading Bulldawgs are good in the fall so I'll have a few in the box.

The Calcutta 400B is an option for sure!

Thanks!

Scratch that Curado (my Bass reel)

The reel I'm using now is a Cardiff 401A on a Cabelas Tourny Trail IM7

Calcuta 401 te, or 401d(available nov for left) sport a 5.1:1 ratio, great pulling power for bucktails, small to medium crank (370$), if you can find any abu revo toro 61 anywhere, they have both 5.4:1 And a 6.4:1 in lefty but are getting scarce (275$), abu revo toro winch is a 4.6:1, (280), great pulling power, not so great on line pickup speed, large cranks reel very easy.

Lol, no problem, pretty new to all this myself, but learning through use is the fun part.

If you reel lefty like I do (even though I'm right handed) the best reel to get is a Calcutta 401 te. I have the curado 301 and Luna 301, they are great reels too. My advice though is save up and get the TE.

I guess the TE is the way to go...I may need to sell one of my shotguns (and the dog) to get it but from all I see on the web it will be worth it.

definately not the Zebco 202 I used as a kid....

Thanks guys!
