I have never been able to fix that kind of problem. I actually have a gander rod that is doing the same thing so I turned it into a trolling rod. Lots of electrical tape.

Tim,

Do you have Herbs (the guy who built my rod) number/email anymore? If not PM me and I will get it for you. He has fixed numerous problems I have had with rods, if it can be fixed he will do it.

Thanks,
Seb

I have had that problem before and fixed it by drilling a hole through the seat and rod, then using tie wire (wire coat hanger will work) as a pin to keep the seat from turning on rod. Feed the wire through hole leaving a few extra inches on each side, bend one side back, then the other, then hook them onto each other and cut off excess. Make sure the hole size matches the diameter of the wire for a snug fit and think about where your hands hold the rod before drilling so it doesn't interfere with your grip.
